Hello, hello! Took some Halloween pictures so I’d thought we’d share. Ryan was a clown and Lorey did a great job of making his costume. It turned out really well and she was very happy with it (as she should have been). Sierra was Snow White and made sure she told everyone who she was as we went by. Again this year, it was amazing just to roam around our neighboorhood. We treated our street, and the 2 streets over and were done (with full buckets no less!). People really get into Halloween and the neighboorhood turnout is great!
Beyond that, we just returned from Utah. Lorey was there for a week and I joined her the end of last week. We hung out with family and had a good time. I have pictures from there as well, and I’ll likely put those up a little later. So, here are the Halloween pics!

Hello October! Wow, it’s crazy how we went from 110 degrees to a nice 70s and 80s. Can’t complain, though… I heard there was snow in Utah over the weekend. Ugh, [robot voice ON] I really miss that. [robot voice OFF]
As far as us… let’s see. Over Labor Day we spent some time in Southern California visiting family and also going to Disneyland. Disneyland was great as we went on Tuesday and Wednesday after the holiday, and you could literally almost walk on to every ride (except the new Nemo submarine ride which still had 45-60 minute waits). We passed on Nemo and had at the rest of the park. I highly recommend going after these type of holidays (especially in school season) if possible to avoid waits, lines, crowds, etc. Pictures to come, I believe…
We also celebrated Sierra’s birthday in Utah County. I know I have a bunch of pictures from that which I’ll post today at some point. We had a great time and the cake was produced by a friend who makes cakes. Check out her website - good stuff!
Since then, Ryan has started pre-school and he really enjoys it. He goes twice a week for 2 hours/day and seems like it’s helping out. We’re also debating on putting him an all-day Kindergarten class next year. I think he’d really excel with that so we’ll see. Still a while out…
Sierra just got a new “big girl” bed. Her toddler bed was a big hit and she hasn’t complained once about not being in her crib. It’s funny that she’ll still yell for us when she wakes up even though she’s only about 1 foot off of the ground and can easily get out of the bed. Oh well, I’m sure she’ll get used to it soon enough and just yell at us for other random reasons.
Lorey’s been plugging along taking care of kids, herself, and her church calling. She’s staying busy as usual and is planning a trip to Utah to help out with some babysitting. As for me, just work and the like. I’m actually home sick the last couple days with a corneal abrasion (sounds much better than a scratched eye). I’m treating with antibiotic eye drops and anti-inflammatory eye drops and I’m hoping by tomorrow AM it’ll be work-worthy (since I’m going either way
).
Beyond that, I’m just excited for the baseball playoffs and basketball to start. Did anyone see that tiebreaker playoff game last night? That was awesome. It’s only the second baseball game I watched start to finish (like, I was pausing the game to run upstairs and help with kids… it was pretty crazy) and was worth the 4 1/2+ hours of time. The playoffs should be awesome… just hoping the Yankees go out early
Go Jazz, and we’ll see ya around Thanksgiving!

Nothing extremely exciting to report… we’ve got a couple trips planned in the near future that will be enjoyable to write about, so we’ll keep everyone occasionally informed about those.
Quick notes:
Ryan starts preschool after Labor Day which should be fun. He seems to excel in situations of structure and learning, so hopefully this will be something he will enjoy as well.
Sierra is finally starting to grow up a little bit (although she still hasn’t grown much hair to Lorey’s dismay). She will always be our little troublemaker, but she’s such a sweetheart as well.
Lorey is doing her thing reading 97 Harry Potter books in the last month or so. (Okay, 5 as of tonight so she can finally go see the new movie) Beyond that she’s been helping out Shane, Katie, and Braydon in their move down here and getting their new house stuff going (landscaping, etc). Plus, she has to deal with me…
As for me… meh. Same old thing. Kind of just on a roll working until vacation starts up. I am still playing baseball on Sundays when I don’t work, and I believe we start softball in a few weeks as well. Oh, my new toy is the Nintendo Wii which is a blast. There is this surgery game called Trauma Center: Second Opinion which is great, among others. The only problem is, it’s really kid friendly, so I spent the majority of the time with the Wii just watching the kids play. Highly recommend it if anyone is considering buying one.
Beyond that, Lorey said she took some pictures so if I can dig up a camera, I’ll post those later tonight! Until then….
Found it… here is the link!
