Hello October! Wow, it’s crazy how we went from 110 degrees to a nice 70s and 80s. Can’t complain, though… I heard there was snow in Utah over the weekend. Ugh, [robot voice ON] I really miss that. [robot voice OFF]
As far as us… let’s see. Over Labor Day we spent some time in Southern California visiting family and also going to Disneyland. Disneyland was great as we went on Tuesday and Wednesday after the holiday, and you could literally almost walk on to every ride (except the new Nemo submarine ride which still had 45-60 minute waits). We passed on Nemo and had at the rest of the park. I highly recommend going after these type of holidays (especially in school season) if possible to avoid waits, lines, crowds, etc. Pictures to come, I believe…
We also celebrated Sierra’s birthday in Utah County. I know I have a bunch of pictures from that which I’ll post today at some point. We had a great time and the cake was produced by a friend who makes cakes. Check out her website - good stuff!
Since then, Ryan has started pre-school and he really enjoys it. He goes twice a week for 2 hours/day and seems like it’s helping out. We’re also debating on putting him an all-day Kindergarten class next year. I think he’d really excel with that so we’ll see. Still a while out…
Sierra just got a new “big girl” bed. Her toddler bed was a big hit and she hasn’t complained once about not being in her crib. It’s funny that she’ll still yell for us when she wakes up even though she’s only about 1 foot off of the ground and can easily get out of the bed. Oh well, I’m sure she’ll get used to it soon enough and just yell at us for other random reasons.
Lorey’s been plugging along taking care of kids, herself, and her church calling. She’s staying busy as usual and is planning a trip to Utah to help out with some babysitting. As for me, just work and the like. I’m actually home sick the last couple days with a corneal abrasion (sounds much better than a scratched eye). I’m treating with antibiotic eye drops and anti-inflammatory eye drops and I’m hoping by tomorrow AM it’ll be work-worthy (since I’m going either way
).
Beyond that, I’m just excited for the baseball playoffs and basketball to start. Did anyone see that tiebreaker playoff game last night? That was awesome. It’s only the second baseball game I watched start to finish (like, I was pausing the game to run upstairs and help with kids… it was pretty crazy) and was worth the 4 1/2+ hours of time. The playoffs should be awesome… just hoping the Yankees go out early
Go Jazz, and we’ll see ya around Thanksgiving!
Here are the pictures!

Hey Mike,
Sounds like things are going good as usual, (except for the eye of course).
I’m pretty pumped for the playoffs too, Go Cubs, maybe we should watch Taking care of Buisiness to get them to the World Series!
Oh and what do you mean you hope the Yankees go out early? still a Yankee fan even after 12 years without Mattingly (although he is the bench coach)
OH and a side bit of news Jackie is pregnant again and is due in middle to late February. I know what it is but she doesn’t want me to tell anyone!
Tell Lorey I said Hi!!!
