This Old Vegas Family

Sorry for the lack of updates… been a crazy month and this weekend is the first “down-time” we’ve really had.

Let’s start backwards:

Right now the kids are doing well - no real sickness to report, which has been unusual this winter.  We’ve been dealing with the cold temperatures just like the rest of the country - although it’s not as bad as others.  I did notice ice on our grass yesterday… our backyard just doesn’t see the sun because it was 50+ yesterday. 

Last week was spent recovering from the previous two weeks.  The kids were up and down as far as sleeping and their own beds were probably foreign to them. 

The week prior we attended the funeral service for my grandmother.  It was a sad event, but a blessing nonetheless.  She led a very full life, and had lived the last few years between sickness and health, and it was her time to go.  We were actually at the hospital when she passed, and that’s a very surreal experience.  So… after she passed away on Monday, we were off to Los Angeles on Wednesday (the Jewish religion dictates a service to happen as soon as possible after a death). 

We had actually just gotten home from Disneyland the Sunday night before this happened, so needless to say, we were already tired of going.  Disneyland was great, the kids had a blast (as always), and we’re already looking into planning our next trip.  These annual passes are a good excuse to take the kids (and us) to the park.  Sierra still wants to go on the tea cups and Buzz Lightyear, and Ryan loves Splash Mountain (not fun at 8:00pm when the low is like 40 degrees–other than there is no line!) and he even went on Space Mountain as well.  We stayed in a beautiful hotel (thanks again Priceline!) and had a good time.

I’m pretty sure we did something for New Year’s (oh yeah, I worked), but it’s basically a blur since the calendar clicked over to January.  My goal today is to put up about a billion pictures, but we’ll see what happens… I’m feeling motivated, yet lazy.  Hoping for a couple hours from now to see some picture links!  Until then…
