Starting the dog days…

August 9th, 2005 · 2 Comments

Yes, it’s August, where everyday in Vegas is a hot one! Of course, it’s pouring rain with lightning and thunder right now (I guess that’s why I’m posting.. :) ), so we can’t complain too much.

The weather’s been decent… a little muggy for our tastes, but 100-105 could be worse. It was really nice to play baseball in on Sunday. It’s nice to be back into the game. I play in a Latin men’s league (not sure how I ended up there) with mainly Spanish-speaking guys, but it’s fun nonetheless. Threw 5 innings, gave up 1 unearned run and I think only 2 hits. Not bad for an old man.

As for our anniversary, we ended up celebrating 3 times! We went our before our anniversary to the Hines Mansion, we went to dinner (with the kids) on our actual anniversary, and we went to dinner and a show this past Saturday. We saw the show “Mamma Mia” at the Mandalay Bay. It was pretty entertaining even for not being my cup of tea. It’s a musical set to the music of Abba. The actors were pretty funny, and Lorey says she’d see it again, so that’s a two-thumbs up.

We also semi-planned a vacation to Disneyland. We’re excited, the hotel is booked, just need to get the little things worked out. It’ll be nice to have the time away and hopefully it won’t be too crazy there.

Well, the rain has stopped which usually cuts off my train of thought. I’ll snap some pictures and see if I can’t get them up before too long. Until then!

It was in there in Vegas! Of course, it wasn’t in Spanish. I believe it was right before they did “Dancing Queen,” but I suppose it could be a little different here.
